We spent 12 days in a remote Island near Semporna, learning about marine conservation work with TRACC. We dived in the bluest waters I have seen, identifying fish, corals, and invertebrates. We helped in making artificial reefs, dissecting Crown Of Thorns, and planting coral fragments. We picked up bottles buried in the depths of the ocean, and helped pick up the trash that littered a neighbouring gypsy community. It has been a very enlightening experience, and to know that there are so many people out there devoting their lives to the restoration of our oceans is very comforting.
